I am a proud, homegrown Blendon Township and Westerville resident with deep roots in this community. My journey began in Blendon Township, where I spent my early years before my family moved to Westerville proper when I was seven. I grew up attending all Westerville City Schools—starting at Hawthorne Elementary, then Emerson and Robert Frost, and later, Walnut Middle School. I graduated from Westerville North High School, where I was part of the Drill Team, and since then, I’ve carried the values of our district with me.
After earning my Bachelor’s degree at Heidelberg University, my husband, Chase, and I moved to Australia where I obtained my Master’s in Environmental Biology from James Cook University. We returned to the Westerville City Schools District in 2008 to raise our children, Jocelyn (a rising Westerville South Senior) and Dylan (a rising Westerville Central Freshman), who are now actively involved in the district. In addition, I am proud to have nieces and nephews who attend Westerville Central High School, further strengthening my connection to this community. As a proud parent and family member, I’m committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive, just as I did.
After working for over 20 years in the non-profit environmental-conservation space for the Ohio Environmental Council, Freshwater Future, and Smart Columbus, I launched my own consulting firm, Upriver Consulting, in April 2023. I created Upriver Consulting to support environmentally-driven organizations in clarifying, creating, and executing strategic campaigns so their people-focused policies win.
In my free-time you might see me in one of the schools. I also like to spend time with friends and family, hike, whitewater raft and kayak, camp, listen to or read a good book, travel, and meditate. If you happen to be an early riser you may catch me at the LA Fitness running, spinning, or lifting.

In 2021, I ran for the Westerville City Schools Board of Education, and I am honored to serve this community. Listening to the concerns and aspirations of our students and families is essential to me. I believe every voice matters and prioritize being accessible and responsive to our community’s needs.
Since 2021, we've achieved significant milestones including:

Ensuring every school has a guidance counselor

Earning the State Auditor award for four consecutive years

Providing additional support for our special education and English learner students

Opening a new state-of-the-art middle school.
